There are some made-up movie bands we wish were real. (Spinal Tap at TD Garden? Crank it to 11!) And we're grateful that others are only figments of filmmakers' imaginations. (Josie and the Pussycats? Never hand Tara Reid a guitar. Never.) But once you've seen
Secrets, a short film featured in the current Boston LGBT Film Festival, you might be intrigued by its fictional feminist rock band, One Long Earring. So get mega-meta tonight at
Machine (1254 Boylston Street, Boston, 617.536.1950) with the
LGBT Film Festival After-Party, where lesbian-loved musicians Melissa Ferrick, Michelle Citron, Catie Curtis, and Faith Soloway will take the stage together in character as the quartet. Plus, expect the party to have the usual dancing and debauchery found at Dyke Night Productions' Second Saturday events. Doors open at 10 p.m., and cover is $10. (If you're interested in discovering more selections from the festival, which runs from May 5 through May 15, scope the full lineup at
bostonlgbtfilmfest.org.)
