Opening a bar isn't just about finding a space, securing the necessary licenses, and hanging a sign above the door -- it's also about knowing who you're marketing to and what it'll take to get them to show up again and again. Shawn Donovan understands all that; after all, he's the guy behind the instantly successful Revolution Rock Bar and, around the corner, the unassumingly chic Lobby Bar & Kitchen. Donovan, who cut his teeth working shifts at Pravda 116 and Felt, also has a new venture in the works: McGreevy's, a sports bar/Irish pub planned for the Boylston Street space vacated by the Foggy Goggle. He's catering to three different crowds, sure, but we think Donovan is savvy enough to charm them all.
