Like this cocktail’s
namesake — a ginormous, venomous rattlesnake — the Diamondback
($8.50) has bite. (Actually, it’s possible that the drink was originally
created at the Diamondback Lounge in Maryland, hence the name. But
let’s pretend it’s for the snake, just to keep the joke going.) Old Overholt
rye, applejack, and green Chartreuse make for a strong, slightly herbal
drink with a hint of fruit that, frankly, will kick your ass just when you least
expect it. Just like the Arizona Diamondbacks! Right guys? Right? Anyone?
NOBODY’S an Arizona Diamondbacks fan? Oh, right. Red Sox Nation.
