Okay, so the name of the event probably isn't going to draw in those with noise sensitivity, but dog people should take note: 33 Restaurant & Lounge is hosting Yappy Hour on the patio on October 2, from 6 to 8 p.m., to benefit the MSPCA-Angell's General Fund.
What does this mean? For starters, it means that Fido -- not to mention my lovely dog friends Manny, Theo, and Basil -- doesn't have to stay home sniffing himself all night while you're off boozing it up at yet another cocktail party. At this event, Fido will get to sniff other dogs. (Oh, the joy!) And while the pooches are circling one another's butts, human types can mingle and, according to the event's press release, drink "pooch-inspired cocktails." (Hmm: Labra-tinis? Puggle-politans? Terrier & Tonics? Or will they play it safe with Greyhounds?) Tickets are a mere $15 for people, or $20 if you bring a canine companion.
Just, y'know, watch where you step.
