Social Scribe blogs BOLDFACERS “Spring Stylemakers” party

Lights. Camera. Fashion. BOLDFACERS surely lived up to its name at an event that saw loads of Boston glitterati truckin’ it to the burbs for a Spring Stylemakers event hosted at Neiman Marcus in the Natick Collection. But even Social Scribe must admit it was worth the tolls and the recruitment of a designated driver.

This corner of the otherwise barren Natick Collection was burgeoning with activity as the second floor of Neiman Marcus was taken over by Lisa Pierpont, who was decked out in $85,000 in Neiman’s jewelry — needless to say, Lisa had two extremely close friends that evening (NM security). The bubbly was flowing as the guests arrived and began to mingle, nibble, and shop before the Stylemakers fashion show was set to begin.

Speaking of entourages, we spotted Betty Riaz strolling into Neiman’s with her Stil gaggle in tow.  Society man Dana Bisbee was snapping photos with his digital, while Jo Swani and Sophie Zunz were one gal short of a Moxie without their partner Regan Dillon. And bon vivant Andy Levine of DuVine Adventures was seen playing the ladies man with every gal who crossed his spectacular spectacles (great taste, Andy!).

The show started prepping, and we counted no less than four BOLDFACERS photogs, one videographer, and two stage directors ready to get the show on the road. This was D-Day.  Designer D-Day. Despite some initial technical difficulties, the show went off in style. Twelve boldfacers selected three ensembles to reflect their own unique sense of style. The highlight among the luminaries was Celtic wifey Corinne Grousbeck — such a hot ticket!

There were also some seemingly separated-at-birth case studies: Elan Sassoon of Mizu was a dead-ringer for Kim Vo of Bravo’s Shear Genius fame (what a mane on that one!), and composer Jeet Singh giving his best Eric Estrada impersonation (it’s like he was there!). Meanwhile, self-styled PR guru Max Buccini was trying his best Gossip Girl imitation with his Oxford tie and button-down (you Chuck Bass-tard).

Some of the BOLDFACERS front row included TV production princess Jennifer Donaldson, Channel 5 anchor Liz Brunner, photog gadabout Eric Levin, and wellness sage Mel Robbins (let’s hope she wasn’t seated next to Boston mag president Randy Hano after their 2007 hatchet job profile — though Social Scribe would have loved to have seen chairs fly!).

We caught sight of Boston Common big Glen Kelley flying solo, lurking in the background sans front-row seat, and Mix 98.5’s Fast Freddy declining cocktails all evening in favor of H20. (Is he booking to see Betty? Or did he just draw the short straw in the designated driver car pool?) But before we knew it, the glitterati were heading back to Beantown, most scampering off to Alibi for some afterhours carousing.
