After stints as a hireling at Sophia's and the Metropolitan Club, this gifted young chef bought his own place, 51 Lincoln (51 Lincoln Street, Newton, 617.965.3100), and some room to stretch. With this new free rein, Fournier has furthered his attempts to integrate Eastern and Western culinary influences in relaxed, harmonious, unshowy ways, while the rent in his sleepy Newton Highlands location allows prices that make South End restaurant habitués titter with relief. It shouldn't be long before a bigger downtown location and wider audiences beckon.
