Waves lapping at the dock, a warm breeze ruffling your hair, city lights blazing in the background ... could a summer evening be more picturesque? Guys, here's a hint: bring that out-of-your-league date to the Summer in the City series at the Boston Harbor Hotel (70 Rowes Wharf, Boston, 617.439.7000) and you're practically guaranteed a second night out. The annual series, which launches on June 21 and runs through August, is made up of free weekly nights of entertainment: Summer Soul (Tuesdays), Summer Swing (Wednesdays), Blues Barge (Thursdays), and Movies By Moonlight (Fridays). Each takes place from 6 to 10 p.m. on a floating barge in full view of an on-land seating area and the Intrigue Café's outdoor terrace. Performance highlights include the World Premier Band (July 3, August 7 and 28), the White Heat Orchestra (every Wednesday), and Tutu Jones (July 19).
