After 18 guitar-smashing, speaker-blowing years in their Copley Square location, the folks at the Hard Rock Café are unplugging their amps, packing their guitars, and moving on to bigger and better things at Faneuil Hall (20 Clinton Street, Boston, 617.424.ROCK). There's still time to visit the old venue: it's open until June 23. After that, the Hard Rock will settle into the space formerly inhabited by the Rack and reopen on July 2. The new digs boast a 500-plus-seat restaurant and a 70-person patio that'll serve the Hard Rock's signature burgers-and-BBQ fare. And when more melodic cravings hit, guests will surely be satisfied by the venue's live-music area, which opens in early August. Shows are planned for up to four nights a week. Of course, with any new Hard Rock comes scads of new music memorabilia: expect handwritten lyrics from Bob Dylan, Madonna's day planner, and a special "Boston Room" filled with collectibles from local bands including Aerosmith, Guster, and New Kids on the Block.
