FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2
We may not have seen a full album from her in seven years, but Mieka Pauley hasn't been taking it easy. The Boston-based artist plays an average of 150 shows annually all over the country, touring with the likes of Citizen Cope, Ben Kweller, Jason Mraz, and Shawn Mullins. We're just glad we can still score tickets locally: Pauley plays Johnny D's (17 Holland Street, Somerville, 617.776.2004) tonight at 9:45 p.m. in celebration of her latest release, Elijah Drop Your Gun. She and producer-friend Brian Cassagnol recorded the album completely independently, self-funding it with a tiered preorder and sponsorship campaign that allowed fans to purchase everything from a signed copy ($15) to an at-home performance ($1000). Visit www.elijahdropyourgun.com for details. Tickets to tonight's show are $10 at the door.
