TUESDAY, DECEMBER 11
Normally the soundtrack to a night at Club Café (209 Columbus Avenue, Boston, 617.536.0966) consists of techno, Madonna, and old-school Britney. Tonight, though, booty-shaking beats take a backseat to culture as the Boston Modern Orchestra Project presents a special concert at 7 p.m. The group of musicians works to bring new pieces to diverse audiences in Boston. We're excited to hear their efforts, because our buttoned-up classical scene definitely needs some fresh faces. This special club performance will feature BMOP musicians playing an in-progress work by resident artist Lisa Bielawa. Tickets are $20 and are available at www.bmop.org. Club Café will serve their full menu throughout the performance, so you can fuel up for some of the aforementioned post-concert booty-shaking.
