SATURDAY, DECEMBER 29
The Dresden Dolls may be a touch offbeat, but they've grown into their role as Boston's musical darlings since the release of their self-titled debut in 2003. Even now, with a second CD, a multitude of sold-out headlining shows, a theatrical stint at the American Repertory Theatre, and concert DVD Live at the Roundhouse under their belts, the Dolls haven't neglected their roots. Writer/singer/pianist Amanda Palmer and drummer Brian Viglione have been touring manically with their own projects (and Palmer's been collaborating with Ben Folds on a solo release due out this spring), but they're joining up again to hit a few cities this winter. Catch them here at the Orpheum Theatre (1 Hamilton Place, Boston, 617.679.0810) tonight at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25; get them at www.ticketmaster.com or 617.931.2000.
