She's an in-your-face, what-you-see-is-what-you-get presence - and Jill Scott also has one of the silkiest voices we've ever heard. The Grammy winner stops off tonight at the Orpheum Theatre (One Hamilton Place, Boston, 617.679.0810) as part of her "The Real Thing" tour. Scott, who began performing as a musical theater and poetry artist, has also dabbled in acting and released a compilation volume of her poetry. Her most recent album, The Real Thing: Words and Sounds Vol. 3, dropped last fall.
