Karmaloop (160 Newbury Street, Boston, 617.369.0100) is trying luxury on for size, and it seems to fit. The online giant’s newly renovated flagship store is now open, and the look is a giant leap from its minimalist predecessor: picture hardwood flooring with a mosaic marble “K” inlay, purple damask wallpaper, and handmade Dutch chandeliers taking over the 2000-square-foot space. If the carved throne at the entrance and three computers available for Web shopping aren’t enough to reel you in, how about limited-edition threads, available in-store before they’re online? After three months of cooling their heels while the facelift was completed, sneakerheads and streetwear addicts can finally get back in the ’loop.
