Weight-conscious European gals have been drinking Bacardi and Diet Coke for years, but ordering the same drink over and over again can get really old, really fast. Thankfully, baristas across town have conjured up some refreshing skinny cocktails for a skinny-bitch-obsessed generation of drinkers. Sip on the lemonade-esque Jessie James at Alibi (Liberty Hotel, 215 Charles Street, Boston, 857.241.1144), made with vodka, ice, and lemons; it’s yummy and not too tart. Or get your “healthy” drink on at Vox Populi (755 Boylston Street, Boston, 617.424.8300) with the Blue Brazilian, made with Van Gogh acai-blueberry vodka, Cointreau, lemon juice, simple syrup, and a hint of cranberry juice. And thanks to The Real Housewives of New York City’s Bethenny Frankel, the “Skinny Margarita” has made a huge splash at bars nation-wide this summer. It’s made with soda water, Patrón white tequila, fresh lime juice, and a splash of Cointreau; we’ve tasted some pretty decent versions at RumBa (InterContinental Hotel, 510 Atlantic Avenue, Boston, 617.217.5152) and Shrine (MGM Grand, 240 MGM Grand Drive, Mashantucket, Connecticut, 866. MGM.0050).
