According to their MySpace page, Boston band the Living Sea counts New Order, Heart, Thin Lizzy, mermaids, and beer as a few of their many influences. We would add to that catalog Karen O. of the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs; Tortoise; and Chicago electronic-tinged art rockers the Sea and Cake (the “Sea” part is completely coincidental, we’re sure). Their new CD is coming out on Lunch Records, and tonight the indie-electronic-pop outfit is celebrating by playing their own party at Great Scott (1222 Comm Ave, Allston, 617.566.9014). We’re pretty sure there’ll be beer, which of course means there will be inspiration. Dive in around 9 p.m. Tickets are $8 at the door.
