Walking down Columbus Avenue this weekend might feel like taking an Alice in Wonderland–like stroll across the radio dial. Berklee is pulling out all the stops to make sure people are dancing in the streets on Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. during the eighth Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival (www.beantownjazz.org), featuring three stages spread over six blocks. Go for the young talent and living jazz legends — Les McCann, Kurt Elling, Russell Malone — who are coming from far and wide to share the stages with local greats; stay for the world music outfits, blues crooners, and a group of hip cats, including James Carter and Cyrus Chestnut, who’ll put their jazzy signature on Pavement songs. An all-star lineup sets the rhythm for weekend at the Friday night Drum Summit at the (136 Mass Ave, Boston, 617.747.2261) at 8:15 p.m. Tickets for that show ($30 and $40) are available at the box office, or at www.ticketmaster.com or 617.931.2000. Saturday’s block party is free.
