Black Kids are to music bloggers what the race to the White House is to political pundits: the topic of lots of discussion. But they’re not pulling the race card with their name, which is only a half-truth. (Only frontman Reggie Youngblood and his sister, Ali, are black kids.) The chatter is all about whether the July release of their debut album, Partie Traumatic, lived up to Pitchfork-endorsed hype of their EP from last summer, Wizard of Ahhhs. With a sigh of relief, we say it does. Maybe it’s because Youngblood famously channels Robert Smith or because so many of their songs are a neatly packaged sonic collage of New Wave’s irony-free frankness, disco’s sassiness, and glam rock’s eccentricity laced with indie cheekiness. The Kids are throwing their Partie tonight at the Paradise Rock Club (967 Comm Ave, Boston, 617.562.8800). The show is at 9 p.m.; doors open at 8. Tickets ($17) are general admission, so be prepared to dance. Visit www.ticketmaster.com.
