Rarely has misery and self-loathing sounded as sunny as it does in the hands of Los Campesinos! As if the exclamation point doesn’t say it all. This seven-piece Welsh outfit is so brimming with energy that not only did they release an ecstatically poppy debut album last February, but they unveiled a sophomore effort just a few months later. With dueling girl boy vocals, jittery guitars, and a merry inclination for glockenspiels, you’ll be inspired to bounce, even when their musings — e.g., “We learn over time that tolerance is more appealing/In theory than in practice” — lean toward the spiteful.
