Let them eat cupcakes

Local sweet-tooth enabler Courtney Forrester has provided another delish option for getting our frosted confection fix by opening up her second Sweet outpost in Harvard Square. Her Back Bay flagship already had us addicted, and now we have twice as many opportunities to indulge in cupcake classics like cappuccino (espresso-flavored cake with Callebaut
chocolate, Sweet’s signature frosting, and a sprinkling of cinnamon — so much better than any Starbucks stop) and red velvet (with Bensdrop Dutch cocoa and cream cheese frosting that’s worth every calorie), not to mention new spring flavors like sweet peeps (chocolate and vanilla cupcakes slathered with buttercream frosting, dipped in sanding sugar, and topped with everyone’s favorite marshmallow treat). The sugar coma-inducing possibilities are endless — especially since you can even get custom-designed cupcakes by special order. But seriously, do these tasty little treats live up to all the hype? You bet your insulin they do. Check them out for yourself at Sweet’s new location (0 Brattle Street, Cambridge, 617.547.2253). Eat one, repeat as needed, call us in the morning, and wait for the I told you so.
