WEDNESDAY, JULY 8
Every so often, a pop star emerges on the scene and makes us want to dig into our closet to excavate old issues of
Tiger
Beat and Teen, flip through the dog-eared pages, and
stare at the heartthrobs that once made us swoon. Where are they now? We’re not
sure, but their nervous, baby-faced charm is certainly evoked by upbeat Texas
hit-ster Ryan Cabrera. When he passed through Boston in
2005, Ashlee Simpson’s on-again, off-again boy whipped swarms of swooning,
shrieking tweens into a frenzy. Now, in promotion of his new album, The
Moon Under Water, he makes an appearance at 8 p.m. at Berklee’s
Café 939 (939 Boylston Street, Boston, 617.747.6038),
showing that he’s grown up enough for the coffeehouse circuit. But don’t let
that stop you from shrieking. Get tickets ($12) at www.ticketmaster.com.
