If you’ve ever been to a stand-up comedy show, you know how uncomfortable things can get when the funny bones just aren’t being tickled: if cricket chirping replaces riotous laughter, you’re in for a long night indeed. But when Tracy Morgan pops by The Wilbur Theatre (246 Tremont Street, Boston, 800.745.3000), you know exactly what you’re getting into: snickers and snaps from an SNL alum and current star of 30 Rock. Morgan, who originated recurring characters like enthusiastically clueless zoologist Brian Fellows on the former, and who essentially plays a caricature version of himself on the latter, takes a summer break from filming his upcoming buddy-cop flick A Couple of Dicks with Bruce Willis to swing by for a Boston show. Expect all the Tracy trademarks — the exaggerated faces, the politically incorrect humor, and of course, the philosophical meanderings and existentialist ponderings of deep reflection. Wait, what? In the words of Brian Fellows — “That’s crazy!!” Morgan brings on the funny at 9:45 p.m., and tickets ($37 and $45) are available through www.ticketmaster.com.
