We like to think we make it look easy, but capturing what’s
hot in a single paragraph is no easy task. So we tip our fashionable hat to
anyone else up to the challenge of brevity, even if they’re dealing with on-air
minutes rather than printed word counts. Take styleboston,
a new half-hour television show debuting September 9 at 7:30 p.m. on NECN.
Executive producer Andrew Holt promises a fast-paced local lifestyle show
divided into five three-minute segments: Power Player (offering profiles of
Boston bigwigs), Scene Spotter (covering local events), Plugged In (focusing on
design and technology), Detour (looking at leisure options), and Fashion
Forward (do we really have to explain this one?). Think Chronicle
meets Access Hollywood. Future segments include a
look through the racks at Chestnut Hill’s Portobello Road and a zing through
zip-lining excursions in New Hampshire. Leading the way are hosts Terri
Stanley, the former Boston Common editor who also developed the
show, and jewelry designer Tonya Chen Mezrich. Other Hub glitterati, like
photographer Eric Levin and designer Anthony Corey, will also contribute.
Short, sweet, and jam-packed with local tastemakers? It certainly sounds
stylish to us.
