Ready to laugh, or at the very least, titter nervously and
hope that a lot of well-intentioned comedians come out with their dignity
unscathed? Then you’re ready for five nights of fun at the
First Annual Boston Improv Festival, where 75 comedy troupes from
across North America will work to win your hearts and minds, and guffaws, with
the kind of unscripted comedy that only the very funny, the very brave, and/or
the very shameless dare attempt. Acts come from Canada, Mexico, and across the
U.S. and, of course, will include homegrown favorites like MC Mr. Napkins, named
Best Local Comedian by the Boston Phoenix for ’09.
The box office opens at ImprovBoston (40 Prospect
Street, Cambridge, 617.576.1253) at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 5:30
p.m. on Saturday, and 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, with individual show, day-pass, and
full-festival ticket packages available. For the full line-up and show times,
