John Centofanti, stylist at Sassoon Salon
We spotted him at Sassoon Salon’s grand
reopening.
We didn’t even let him get through the door before stopping
him because his pop of plaid made his all-black ensemble
anything but boring.
He was looking sharp in a sweater and pants
from Marc by Marc Jacobs, a Club Monaco shirt, and John Varvatos shoes.
He describes his style as “anything that
strikes my mood.”
John’s fall must-have: plaid
He can’t live without his new John Varvatos
shoes and a good pair of Prada sneakers.
Melissa Hue, stylist and hair and make-up artist
We spotted her at Fashionably Late with
Boston Ballet and Karmaloop.
She made our heads turn with her vampy
style.
She wore an H&M vest, Tripp NYC pants,
and shoes by The Highest Heel.
Melissa describes her style as very sharp
and sexy, crisp and bold, and always pushing the envelope.
She can be seen shopping in Boston at Karmaloop, Soodee,
Intermix, H&M, and Forever 21.
She’s not feeling leggings and Uggs.
Her words of advice for Boston: “Always wear what
works for you and makes you feel sexy.”
Paula Koumoundouros, junior color and materials designer at
Converse
We spotted her at Fashionably Late with
Boston Ballet and Karmaloop.
Her dress made us wonder if we’re developing
a baraccuda-like attraction to anything sparkly.
Paula wore a dress by Kate Moss for Topshop, a
Ralph Lauren blazer, a Chanel bag, and Aldo shoes.
Her worldly style can be described as the Mediterranean goes
to the Ivy League.
She knows what’s hot ahead of time: reverse
sequins are the thing for next fall, she tells us.
What she thinks makes a stylish Bostonian: effortless
originality — “anything less doesn’t impress me”
Lauren Parker, grad student and receptionist at Sassoon Salon
We spotted her at Sassoon Salon’s grand
reopening.
She caught our eye with her colorful dress
in a sea of uniform black.
She looked lovely in a French Connection
dress and Vera Wang Lavender Label shoes.
She made her style sound effortless: “The
easiest thing I do in the morning is get dressed.”
Her absolute favorite piece of clothing: a
YSL Rive Gauche dress she got at a Neiman Marcus sale for $50 — “I’ve worn it
every way possible”
The go-to item in Lauren’s closet: American
Apparel bodysuits, which she wears under everything
Laurel Ciarcia, colorist at Sassoon Salon
We spotted her at Sassoon Salon’s grand
reopening.
It was announced to us upon her entrance that the
fashionista of the evening had arrived.
We couldn’t help drooling over her Cynthia
Rowley dress and Brian Atwood shoes.
When asked how she describes her style, she
responded, “I think better in a heel.”
Her philosophy on fashion: it’s better to be
overdressed than underdressed.
Her fall must-haves: leather Helmut
Lang leggings and a gold fur vest
Her style advice for Boston: “It
doesn’t have to be expensive; it just has to be tasteful.”
Mondo, sales associate at H&M
We spotted him at Fashionably Late with
Boston Ballet and Karmaloop.
He immediately caught our eye because he’s a
perfect example of how guys should dress.
Mondo wore a shirt and glasses from
Goodwill, pants from H&M, a vintage blazer, and shoes from Aldo
He describes his style as all over the
place.
He can’t live without a black cardigan.
His biggest fashion disaster: “Just picture
orange fluorescent pants and orange and gray Sketchers.”
If money wasn’t an issue, Mondo would only
be wearing McQueen.
His advice for a more stylish Boston: make sure you always
leave the house with some personality.
