Skoah, eh?

Talk about hospitality: Canada is a country that just keeps on giving to American culture. Our neighbors to the north have sometimes sent our way the good (we couldn't cheer the Bruins if they hadn't birthed ice hockey), sometimes the bad (did Justin Bieber come with a gift receipt?), and sometimes the ugly (our BlackBerry addiction, courtesy of its Ontario inventors). But this month, they're helping us be more beautiful with the newly opened "spatique" Skoah (641A Tremont Street, Boston), the first US location of the Vancouver-based skincare brand. The space, opened by local South Enders and designed to evoke a chic Canadian cabin, offers facials using products that adhere to Skoah's "personal training" approach to skincare. For example, there's the Skin Boost Serum ($75), a firming potion that increases collagen production to fill in fine lines; Eye Kandy ($50), meant to banish dark circles and under-eye puffiness; and the Even-Keeled Kit ($125), a "training kit" package designed to maintain dermatological equilibrium between "workouts" (i.e., facials). Gosh. If they can buff up our beauty routines as promised, we might even forgive them for Nickelback.
