Assuming the rent was reasonable, we'd totally consider moving to the moon. Sure, we'd dread schlepping our DVD collection a quarter of a million miles, but we endorse any relocation that sheds more than 80 percent of our body weight. (Besides, no alien could be stranger than our last roommate.) So maybe we'll go house hunting at the Moon Ball, an outer-space-style gala hosted by SHIFTboston, a collective promoting architectural innovation through creative design contests. Tonight they reveal the winners of their Moon Capital Design Competition, in which brilliant minds from 20-plus countries submitted ideas for futuristic lunar habitats. In a 7 p.m. forum at the BCA Cyclorama (539 Tremont Street, Boston), real space architects and astronauts will separate future fact from science fiction. At 8 p.m., the Moon Ball begins: partygoers will view all the finalists in an installation incorporating lunar fashion, food, cocktails, a live DJ, and interactive games. Tickets are $10 in advance at shiftboston.org and $15 at the door.
