Rock icons

For those of us who snoozed through 99 percent of high school history lectures, there was something, like, totally triumphant about the grand finale of the '80s cult flick Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, when two time-traveling stoner students - played by Keanu Reeves and That Guy Who Wasn't Keanu Reeves - trot up Genghis Khan, Joan of Arc, and Abraham Lincoln for a rock-concert-style school assembly. (Under those circumstances, we'd be waving our lighters within seconds of hearing Honest Abe's number-one hit, "The Gettysburg Address.") So we're big fans of Boston-based apparel line Faith & Fortune for its most triumphant spring collection, which will arrive at Habit (703 East Broadway, South Boston, 617.269.1998) by the end of March. The rock-and-roll-inspired collection includes a series of cool V-necks that put musical twists on historical figures, mashing up their iconic images with designs inspired by '70s and '80s rock aesthetics. Badass bard William Shakespeare gets the treatment on a men's shirt ($29), while diva Marie Antoinette adorns a selection for the ladies ($32). We can't wait to see what other historical headliners get rock-star makeovers, and there are also plenty of button-downs, cardigans, and hoodies featuring other music-inspired designs (like action shots of local bands, for instance) on the way. And a percentage of proceeds from sales will go to an upcoming Rock for Justice tour benefiting Discover the Journey, a nonprofit that advocates for children in crisis. In the famous words of Keanu: "Most excellent."
