The phrase "participatory art" is sometimes a cause for concern. Sure, it sounds fun, but we've chuckled politely through too many of those "My Big Funny Ethnic Wedding" dinner-theater shows to blindly attend anything that promises interactivity. Thankfully, FIGMENT Boston is bound to steer clear of any so-called artistry best relegated to bachelorette parties. The weekend festival will fill the Rose F. Kennedy Greenway with dozens of creative projects - in the disciplines of performance, music, visual art, and more - that emphasize audience participation. (What that means, exactly, is up to each individual artist.) Much as we love summer strolls through indoor exhibition spaces around town, this grassy, grassroots-style art scene sounds like an experience worth sharing.
