... At Avanti Salon’s Fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure

She proved she's a pro at day-to-night dressing with a
BCBG Max Azria top and skirt, a Kitchen Sink Bag necklace, and Nine West shoes.
And her short, sassy haircut had us contemplating
a new chop.
She professed her love for off-kilter details and
clothing that moves. "I treasure breathable fabrics."
She is the best kind of pack rat: a girl who
keeps her mom's vintage clothes. Her favorite finds from days gone by are an
old bow tie and a floor-length black dress from the '80s.

She pulled out the hot pink to support the breast-cancer fundraiser. Her
Lilly Pulitzer dress and white wedges brought a little Nantucket
to Newbury.
Her stack of bracelets - "for warding off evil," she says - were a funky
counterpoint to her preppy ensemble. They're also more indicative of her
everyday, colder-weather look: lots of black basics and a couple of standout
accessories.
Her favorite shoes are black Louboutins, a staple in her wardrobe, but
right now she's eyeing a glitter-encrusted pair with chunky heels.

We spotted her across the salon and had to find out where she bought that
striking orange dress. Turns out, it was a vintage find from Moxie, a North Shore
consignment shop.
She paired it with a vintage Ferragamo belt, gold Alexis Bittar
bangles, metallic Guess heels, and a gold Hobo bag.
She described her style by invoking pop-culture leading ladies: "Carrie
Bradshaw meets Audrey Hepburn."
The impeccable fit and high quality of old clothes - and their
nostalgia factor - draw her in. "I like to incorporate them into modern
fashion."

We had to snap a photo of the evening's adorably
humble host. He wore sensible-but-stylish footwear, a smart choice for someone
who's on his feet all day.
He kept it simple in white Prada shoes, a crisp
button-down shirt, and dark denim.
His whole look was flawless - laidback cool with
a dash of polish - but unsurprisingly, his hair was his best accessory.
