Bar food just got a new, uh, phallic twist at Alibi
(Liberty Hotel, 215 Charles Street, Boston, 857.241.1144). The
of-the-moment snack of choice? Pickle spears. We’ve done the peanut
thing, the pretzel thing, the potato chip thing. Is it any surprise
pickles weren’t far behind? The perfectly salty, Italian-recipe pickles
are from the folks at Grillo’s Pickles, and the stylish barflies
frequenting Alibi are scooping them up as fast as kids at a barbecue.
Pair them with a Bloody Mary, or go all the way with the bar’s pickle
martini (Hendrick’s gin and pickle juice). Move over olives; pickles
are staking their claim in the must-have green-garnish category. Get
them ($3 for four spears) with your cocktail at Alibi. ...
