Many of us grew up fantasizing about playing in the big leagues, running the bases at Fenway, and swinging for the Green Monster. Now you can make that dream a reality for the sports fanatic on your holiday shopping list. Well, sort of. The folks at Game On! (82 Lansdowne Street, Boston, 617.351.7001) are booking holiday parties for groups of 15 or more to eat, drink, and swing bats at the historic ballpark. The package includes access to Fenway’s visiting-team batting cages, where party-goers can watch their friends hit one out of the park (or at least make a feeble attempt). (82 Lansdowne Street, Boston, 617.351.7001) understands that we want to kick back, listen to live music, and even hedge our bets on winning a $100 gas card, so they’re bringing us Recession Sessions every Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Enjoy cocktails and $4 appetizers including clam chowder, buffalo wings, and nachos while local musician Ryan Mara plays acoustic tunes.
