Hadley Pollet has been designing ribbon belts and preppy purses for Nantucket-bound New England gals for years. The gorgeous blond may look like the pearl-wearing, girl-next-door type from afar, but take a closer look and you’ll find a vivacious vixen. From strip tease classes to a collection of sexy corsets, Pollet is hardly a prude. We recently caught up with the local clothing and accessories designer and her sex kitten ears.
How many sex kitten ears do you own? Three pairs and counting...
How did you start collecting them? My boyfriend believes I turn into an arctic fox at night. He gave me my first pair of ears when we first started dating. The first pair are from Kyoto, Japan, a highly spiritual town where a lot of Japanese mythology is based.
A little birdie told us that you have taken strip tease and pole dancing classes. Is it true? Do you own any other sexy gear? That little birdie is you! That’s for me and my honey to know and everyone else to wonder!
Do you collect any other fun or quirky items? I collect lots of things, and all are sensual or contribute to sensory experiences, whether they be eating, touching, seeing, wearing something soft, or looking at something incredibly beautiful, or better yet . . . all of the above and then some! A few things I collect include gloves, jade, journals, teapots, T-shirts, corsets, textiles, vintage handbags, buckles, tea . . . high tops, skirts, and the list goes on. I do not collect jewelry, and I have no interest in diamond studs (training wheels) or pearls unless they can be draped beautifully around the body.
Do you think people who know you because of your accessories might be surprised by your collection? Maybe people who think they know me will be surprised by my ears. It is unlikely anyone close to me (except my boyfriend) knows about them. I believe every woman has many sides or spirits, and for anyone to believe otherwise is kind of simplistic. I may have gone to prep school and had sit-down dinner five nights a week in a skirt, but that doesn’t mean I’m not sensual or [that I don’t] have many sides to me. People who know me well would tell you “preppy” is possibly the last word that comes to mind when describing me personally.
