From Jane Fonda–style Lycra leotards to stripping poles to yoga and Pilates, we’ve seen a lot of exercise frenzies over the years. But this newest one will have you channeling your inner child. From San Francisco to New York to Beyonce’s new workout video,
hula hooping has circled its way into Boston via a group called the
Boston Hoop Troop. You can join in on this aerobic workout in classes given by the Troop at the
Arts at the Armory (191 Highland Avenue, Somerville, 617. 718.2191),
Dana Park in Central Square (74 Magazine Street, Cambridge), and the
Cambridge Common. Hooping begins as a low-impact core exercise, but the more you hoop, the more coordination you gain and the more intense it becomes, resulting in toned arms, chest, back, core, and legs. For more information or to order your own hoop, contact
