MC Slim JB is a restaurant critic and food & drinks writer who contributes regularly to Stuff and co-authors its annual Dining Awards. He writes cover features on the local restaurant scene for The Boston Phoenix as well as its weekly On the Cheap column, a review of budget-priced restaurants. MC also contributes occasional features on Boston’s cocktail scene to acclaimed blog drinkboston.com, and has served as the Boston restaurant pages editor for travel website Gayot.com. He has written about restaurants, food, and Boston neighborhoods for Boston Magazine, and covered restaurants, cocktails, and film for Boston’s Weekly Dig. MC frequently contributes restaurant reviews to amateur-review website Chowhound.com, which is where Stuff found him and offered him his first professional food writing assignment in 2005, a cover story entitled “Five Reasons to Dine at the Bar.” A New England native, he resides, as he has most of his life, in Boston.
