Jackson Cannon, Andrew Holden, and Garrett Harker
If there’s a Boston hangout that inspires hobnobbing between urban hipsters, out-of-towners, dedicated
foodies, college sophisticates, and rabid Red Sox fans alike, Kenmore Square staple Eastern Standard is
it. Owner and gracious host Garrett Harker, who worked with fellow player Barbara Lynch to open and
run No. 9 Park, B&G Oysters, and the Butcher Shop (as a partner in the latter two), knows the formula
for a successful spot: keeping diners engaged. Harker has assembled an enthusiastic, knowledgeable
team — including bar manager and master mixologist Jackson Cannon, and affable (and adorable) GM
Andrew Holden, formerly of Clio — that has done just that. Cannon has a new cocktail menu — featuring
66 of his specialties — in the works; Holden has things running smoothly; and Harker is looking for what
he calls “opportunity number two” in the coming year. We can only hope for more of the same.
