How often do you work out? Three to five times a week.
How do you stay in shape? I’m just a huge outdoorsman and love all kinds of athletics and competition, whether it’s going skydiving, skiing, or waterskiing.
What inspires you to work out? Obviously, it’s a part of my job. I like looking healthy, feeling healthy. My mom’s a personal trainer, and my dad’s always been a big athlete, so they’ve pushed me to work hard at everything I do.
How closely do you watch what you eat? I should probably watch it more closely. I love food, but during the season I try to tighten it up. I try to eat more of the good stuff and less of the fried stuff.
What are your favorite foods? I’m a big steak guy; I love steak salads or a big juicy steak with potatoes on the side. But I’d say anything my mom makes is good for me.
What indulgence food tempts you the most? I can’t turn down anything fried.
How often do you splurge? I try to keep it to once a week, but it could be five times a week when I’m bad.
What is your favorite exercise? Probably squats because at the end of a workout, you feel like your entire body has gone through the ringer and you’re exhausted and sweating. It’s bad, but it’s good because you know you’ve worked hard.
What is your least favorite exercise? One of our trainers has us pushing the “Heavy Chevy,” which is his Chevy Silverado or Chevy Tahoe that he puts in neutral, and we take turns pushing it.
You obviously have a great body now, but did you ever go through an awkward stage? The only awkward part was when I was really little, like five or six years old, I was almost too cut up for a little kid. I’ve been really lucky that my parents are both in great shape and have been lucky to have that passed down to me.
What do you consider your best body part? My heart. It’s what’s allowed me to get the farthest in my lacrosse career.
Any parts you’re insecure about? Love handles. I’m still working on them a little bit — trying to slim down. I also have no calves.
If you could have someone else’s body for a day, whose would it be? Ryan Reynolds has got a pretty good body. I’d trade.
