Girl, stop singing into your hair brush, and let the real divas do the work. There’s a new gay club night in town, “Vocal Thursdays” at Machine (1254 Boylston Street, Boston, 617.536.1950), and it focuses on the vocal house anthems that get bodies shaking and voices singing along. No blips, bleeps, or monotone techno — think women with wigs, wailing, and tunes you’ll want to download later. Manning the booth tonight is DJ JST, resident DJ at 28 Degrees in Boston’s South End and, incidentally, a classically trained violinist. He’s even been known to whip out his bow and play along at club shows (fingers crossed). Going forward, the weekly lineup for this just-launched night will rotate among other legendary locals, including DJ Maryalice (July 9), who has captained the Boatslip Resort’s popular Provincetown T-Dances since 1994. “Vocal Thursdays” run from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., so mark this in your little black book as a club date that’ll have you screaming its name.
