Drama queens, take your crown off that shelf where it’s been sitting since those high-school productions of Grease, Guys & Dolls, and Soon to Be Disappointed Teenage Girl Takes the Impossibly Attractive Male Star of the Drama Club to the Prom: The Musical! Gay-friendly restaurant/bar Club Café (209 Columbus Avenue, Boston, 617.536.0966) has just launched a new reason to dust off your favorite cast recordings and practice vocal warm-ups: Sing-A-Long Sundays. Focusing on “Broadway and Beyond,” VJ Rompy, who has already established a strong following at Dorchester haunt dbar with his “Showtune Tuesdays,” will play rare, fun videos of your favorite show tunes, movie themes, and other nostalgia-inducing clips tailor-made for rousing rounds — of the alcoholic and melodic variety — with friends. The new weekly event has no cover (though bring cash for cocktails and some bar gnoshes) and runs from 4 to 11 p.m., which is more than enough time to while away a Sunday with good friends, good tunes, group karaoke, and yeah, some jazz hands. Sounds like a Wicked good time.
