Just because we live in the North doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy an occasional trip to the Dirty South. That’s not a reference to getting crunk in Atlanta (though if you feel like splurging on airfare to party with the city's "real housewives," we fully support it), but to the electro-house DJ Dragan Roganović, better known by his Dirty South moniker, who's bringing the party to Venu (100 Warrenton Street, Boston, 617.338.8061) tomorrow night starting at 10 p.m. In this case, “South” is presumably a reference to Australia, where the Macedonia-born Roganović grew up, began honing his turntable skills, and used his family computer to start producing his own dance tracks. But in under five years on the international scene, Dirty South has emerged as a rising star on the radar: he’s already earned his first Grammy nomination (for a remix of the Kaskade club anthem “Sorry”) and remixed for major stars of the music world, from fellow DJs Tiesto and Ferry Corsten to rockers U2 and even hip hop’s own Snoop Dogg. What can we say? Everyone likes it a little dirty now and then. Tickets are $30 at the door.
