There’s nothing static about dance, so to call Movement at the Mills a form of art installation seems a little strange. But the new thrice yearly program kicking off tonight at the Boston Center for the Arts' Mills Gallery (551 Tremont Street, Boston, 617.456.1132) is probably best described as such: visitors will be able to wander the gallery and observe three separate local dance companies simultaneously demonstrating three different movement styles as if they were art exhibits. No stage, no fancy lighting — just pure poetry in motion, up close and personal. For this dance debut, the participating companies include contemporary groups Accumulation Dance and Urbanity Dance (pictured), as well as improvisational troupe lizroncka/Real-Time Performance Project. The free installation will run from 6 to 9 p.m., with each performance repeating on the hour — so you can plan to take in each in its entirety, one at a time, or just observe in pieces as you meander. Get a move on.
