110209 Get Out

Harry Potter fans, ’fess up: we know you’re out there, and that once or twice you’ve fantasized about stepping inside the hallowed halls of Hogwarts to rub elbows with Harry and his school chums (although frankly, we’re more likely to fantasize about stepping inside J.K. Rowling’s bank account). Regardless, “Harry Potter: The Exhibition” is probably the closest you’ll ever get to making those daydreams come true, a chance to ogle over 200 props, costumes, and other artifacts from the film series, lovingly arranged in elaborate setttings that allow you to wander through and interact within the young wizard’s stomping grounds, from Hagrid’s hut to the Great Hall. The traveling exhibition opened last week at the Museum of Science (1 Science Park, Boston, 617.723.2500), where it will stay until February 21, 2010. Tickets, available at mos.org, are $26, $5 for museum members (or free if you cast the appropriate spell using the claw of a raven, a sprig of toad stool, and a tooth from a slain dragon…).
