110509 Get Out

If you can’t get enough of “Evolution of Dance” and “Charlie Bit My Finger” on YouTube, then you should break away from the viral-video cave and head over to the Coolidge Corner Theatre (290 Harvard Street, Brookline, 617.734.2501) for tomorrow night’s Found Footage Festival. Fans may be familiar with hosts Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher from their stints with The Onion, the Late Show with David Letterman, and elsewhere; at this 9:30 p.m. screening though, the duo will be providing color commentary for a hilarious never-before-seen lineup of bizarre clips from videos found in garage sales, dumpsters, and thrift stores across the country. Expect cinematic gems like a strange video-dating plea from a man clad in a Viking helmet, a clip of former Golden Girl Rue McClanahan attempting to herd cats in a video guide to feline care, and a cavalcade of tragic workout videos from the ’80s. Just pray you don’t see any mortifying moments from your own past up on screen. Tickets ($10) are available here or at the Coolidge Corner Theatre box office.
